Cheaters Relief, by BSN, is marketed for the athletes, bodybuilders, fighters, and other trainers. It’s going to help such people avoid fat gain even while they’re eating piles of food for fuel. One assumes an average consumer could take Cheaters Relief as a way of preventing fat gain during a normal diet, but that’s certainly not how the product is marketed.

Instead, BSN promotes an extreme vision of physical training, and no one on BSN’s website looks like an average consumer. As such, we can’t really say Cheaters Relief is for everybody, and we would even question whether the athletes and trainers should be taking it.

Cheaters Relief is divided into two blends: Fat Relief and Carb Relief. Fat Relief contains NeOpuntia®, Chitosan, and Cassia Nomame. Carb Relief contains Citrilin HCA, Phaseo-Lean, R-ALA, 4-Hydroxy-Lean, and Cinnulin-PF®.

Ingredients/Program in Focus

We’ll note the following:

The main Fat Relief ingredient seems to be Chitosan, a polysaccharide derived from shellfish. Chitosan is thought to attract fat, but this ability is unsubstantiated. In fact, one might expect only thirty calories per day to be eliminated by Chitosan from the diet.

Citrilin HCA is derived from Garcinia Cambogia, which is a small fruit containing Hydroxycitrate. This is thought to inhibit the enzyme, ATP citrate lyase, which helps synthesize fatty acids.

Phaseo-Lean is a White Kidney Bean extract often included in carb-blocking supplements. It may aid in blocking carbohydrates by decreasing starch absorption. There is a chance, however, that White Kidney Bean may inhibit the absorption of vitamins and minerals, which could cancel any benefit there might be to including it in dietary supplements.

Pregnant or nursing women should not take this supplement. Those taking medication already should consult a physician.

Positives

•    Does not appear to contain stimulants.

Negatives

•    BSN promotes rather extreme activities, including fighting.

•    Cheaters Relief is not exactly convincing.

Final Thoughts

Cheaters Relief is a strange bird. It’s clearly not for everyone, and it’s not clear whether or not it’s a great option even for the people for whom it’s marketed. One wonders if trainers and average consumers alike would be better served by eating well and focusing on balanced diets. After all, with the right sort of exercise, healthy food shouldn’t be a problem, right? If you would like weight loss supplementation, choose a product with ingredients proven to burn fat and help control appetite and cravings.
